About Us

Aida Contemporary was founded by Renee Cosette Pedersen as a space centered in faith and spirituality—guided by curiosity and a deeper sense of exploration, both creatively and personally.

Renee’s background spans art, fashion, and design, with experience across curation, consulting, and gallery management. Through her business, The Muse Emporium, founded in 2017, she has worked on pop-up art events, collaborated with institutions such as Facebook and Instagram, and participated in platforms including SCOPE Art Show and Art Basel. She has also worked with local galleries in Houston and represented international artists.

Her experience in the art world has been multifaceted—from documenting performance art through photography to working as a curator, manager, and art representative—shaping a broad and intuitive understanding of both the creative and business sides of art.

Aida Contemporary was originally launched in 2019, including a partnership with Artsy. Shortly after, the global changes in 2020 led to a pause and a period of transition.

During that time, Renee stepped back and re-centered her life, returning to her work in luxury retail while deepening her faith in God. That period reshaped how she understands creativity and her place within the art world.

Today, Aida Contemporary reflects that shift. Rooted in faith and guided by a more intentional perspective, it explores the synthesis of art, science, and culture—creating space for a deeper connection to what is felt, but not always seen.

Renee continues to work in luxury retail while also leading The Muse Emporium and relaunching Aida Contemporary as an extension of her evolving perspective.

She is drawn to collaborating with artists and creatives who approach their work with intention, curiosity, and a shared sense of exploration.
